The town of Níjar

Its Moorish roots are clearly visible, with an abundance of white houses like most of the towns in this municipality.

Níjar is famous for its traditional crafts, with some of the best work using ceramic, jarapa and esparto to be found anywhere. Its Mudéjar church from the 16th Century is well worth a visit. One of our other attractions is our organic farming, tomatoes of all varieties, courgettes, watermelons, etc.

We can proudly say that we are currently the area with the highest concentration of organic agricultural production in Europe.
